Abstract

The article studies the theoretical foundation of Electronic Markets on the Internet and analyses their impact on market agents' economic activities. Particularly, the focus is on the following impacts: search costs, intermediation, cost structure of the vendor, benefits of the buyer. Then the article analyses aggregation and disaggregation strategies of producers of information goods. The article concludes by examining the impact of electronic markets on market efficiency.
