Utilisation efficace des TIC pour l'innovation digitale : Une perspective actualisée d'affordance à travers le design thinking supporté par les TIC

Résumé

Les technologies de l’information (TIC) disponibles dans les organisations peuvent être utilisées pour créer des solutions innovantes d’une manière rapide, efficace et économique. Malgré la nécessité de mieux comprendre les modalités permettant d’utiliser les TIC dans les organisations pour favoriser l’innovation, la littérature sur l’innovation numérique/digitale se concentre principalement sur l’étude de la mise en œuvre de TIC existantes dans de nouveaux contextes ou sur la conception et le développement de nouvelles technologies de l’information. Cet article enrichit ces travaux de recherche en étudiant un mécanisme créatif alternatif mobilisant les technologies digitales existantes pour l’innovation. En ancrant nos arguments dans la littérature sur l’usage efficace des SI et « l’affordance de la technologie », nous conceptualisons les caractéristiques des agents d’innovation et l’affordance actualisée de l’innovation basée sur l’utilisation des TIC, comme les deux principaux facilitateurs de l’innovation digitale. Les caractéristiques des agents d’innovation sont opérationnalisées par le biais de caractéristiques génériques et spécifiques au domaine de « l’auto-efficacité créative » et de « l’affect envers l’utilisation des TIC ». L’affordance de l’innovation actualisée est opérationnalisée comme l’utilisation efficace des technologies disponibles grâce à une approche de conception basée sur les TIC ou encore « ICT enabled design-thinking » (ICT-DT). Le modèle proposé est testé empiriquement via une méthode quasi-expérimentale comprenant des données provenant d’une enquête en deux temps de collecte. Les résultats montrent une influence significative à la fois des caractéristiques de l’agent d’innovation et de l’affordance actualisée de l’innovation pour faciliter l’innovation digitale. Cependant, l’affordance actualisée de l’innovation, opérationnalisée par l’approche ICT-DT, a une relation plus forte avec l’innovation digitale par rapport aux caractéristiques de l’agent d’innovation. Cela souligne la nécessité pour les organisations d’intégrer l’utilisation des TIC pour permettre des approches de créativité structurées (telles que le DT) et encourager les productions innovantes. L’étude offre également plusieurs implications pour la recherche et pour la pratique.

Anuragini Shirish is an Associate Professor at Institute Mines-Télécom Business School (IMT-BS), France. Prior to joining IMT-BS, she was working in corporate and IT legal consulting. She is an elected member from her institution for the governance of the LITEM (Laboratoire Innovation Technologies Economie et Management) (EA 7363), a joint research laboratory under University of Paris-Saclay, France. She is also a certified design thinking expert. Her research interests include social, behavioral, cultural, and legal aspects related to information systems —specifically in the context of emerging and collaborative technologies. Her research has been published or accepted for publication in international refereed journals including European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Communications of the Association of the Information Systems (CAIS), International Journal of Information and Management (IJIM) and Human Systems Management (HSM). She has also presented her work in several premier IS and management conferences including International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), Academy of Management (AOM), Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), and Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), among others. She has been honoured with several awards including the second prize at the Sphinx best thesis award.

Shirish C. Srivastava, HEC Paris, France

Shirish C. Srivastava is Professor and GS1 France Chair in “Digital Content for Omni Channel” at HEC Paris. Prior to joining HEC, he has lectured at the School of Business, National University of Singapore and holds a Ph.D. from the same university. He has also completed his habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) from Université de Lorraine, France. His research has been published in several top-tier journals such as MIS Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Journal of Information Technology (JIT), and MIS Quarterly Executive (MISQE), among others. He has also won multiple awards, including awards for best papers at different forums such as Academy of Management, International Conference on Information Systems, Association for Computing Machinery, and Society for Information Management. He has thrice been awarded Prix Académique de la Recherche en Management, 2013, 2015 and 2016 at Paris, France. He currently serves as a Senior Editor at the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) and the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS). He also serves on the editorial board of several other prestigious international journals. His research interests include e-government, services sourcing, technology enabled innovation, artificial intelligence, opensource, and social media strategy.

Imed Boughzala, LITEM, Univ Evry, IMT-BS Université Paris-Saclay, 91025, Evry, France

Imed Boughzala is former Dean of the Faculty, presently Department Chair and Full Professor at IMT-BS. HDR accredited in both Computer Science and Management Science, he has a deep and rich international experience acquired through his research, lecturing and collaboration on major projects. His present research interests are related to Digital Intelligence. He is the founder of SMART² (Smart Business IS) Research group and IS Lab, which includes scholars and PhD students from different areas working on the future IS generation and emerging technologies. Imed has authored several scientific and professional articles (JMIS, JAIS, JDS, SIM) and books and he is a member of several editorial boards of scientific journals (I&M, JOUEC). As part of his research and consulting activities, he is working with several French and International organizations (eg. SNCF, Radio France, Volvo, Renault, Hydro Quebec, Canon and British Airways) and facilitated several brainstorming and creativity sessions (using Design thinking, Lego serious play, Triz, C/K theory). He is also a co-chair of the FNEGE observatory on digital transformation within business schools. Since Jan. 2019, he became a facilitator for the AACSB and more recently a mentor for other schools.
