Une Immutabilité n’est pas vérité : Une revue critique de la confiance dans la blockchain pour les chaînes d'approvisionnement

L’importance croissante de la blockchain dans les chaînes d’approvisionnement a donné lieu à une avalanche d’articles présentant des résultats contradictoires ou imprécis. Dans cette revue critique de 118 articles, nous résumons tout d’abord la littérature émergente sur le rôle de la confiance dans l’utilisation de la blockchain dans les chaînes d’approvisionnement. Ensuite, nous identifions et affinons les concepts essentiels qui ont été négligés ou confondus dans la littérature. Nous soulignons le rôle crucial de la vérification physique des données, c’est-à-dire la vérification de la correspondance entre les enregistrements sur la chaîne et l’état des biens physiques. Nous distinguons la confiance interorganisationnelle dans les partenaires de la confiance dans la technologie blockchain. Sur la base de ces clarifications, nous élaborons un ensemble de propositions. Plus précisément, la vérification physique des données enregistrées sur la blockchain renforce la confiance, tant entre les partenaires qu’envers la technologie blockchain. Cependant, alors que la confiance dans la technologie blockchain augmente son utilisation, lorsque les partenaires se font déjà confiance au départ, ils peuvent considérer qu’il est moins nécessaire d’utiliser la blockchain. L’utilisation de la blockchain renforce ces deux types de confiance. Plus la confiance est grande, moins les données enregistrées sur la blockchain seront vérifiées physiquement. Des recherches futures pourraient s’intéresser au rôle des avancées technologiques supplémentaires nécessaires pour garantir que les enregistrements numériques reflètent la réalité.
